Hacker's Database
This site is dedicated as a repository for "hacking" programs for Windows and Linux. Please note that hacking means nothing but tweaking or cleverly resolving a problem. Use the programs as you wish, but this site or its provider are not responsible in terms of how you use these programs, (i.e. for educational purposes only).
The way this site works is as follows. I will update the database to the best of my capability, to a point. You, the community, may upload whatever you feel is relevant to the site in terms of security, docs/videos, etc. Then, I will eventually review each submitted item, and add it to the database.
READ THE T.O.A. BEFORE PROCEEDING! It contains valuable information!

Alright, so I decided to use Thunderbird to connect to my POP3 mail account with Yahoo!, and unbeknownst to me, the setting by default was to download and delete all e-mails from the mail server. This is retarded. And now this is why I like IMAP. Regardless, I felt it necessary to question Yahoo! about what I might be able to do to send them back. I already knew that I could simply forward them back, or upload it to my GMail account, but I was curious to hear other options. Here is the intriguing/rude conversation I had with this unruly bot/person. It gets pretty good towards the end. I think I should highlight the funny points - but then the entire conversation would be highlighted. Comments on her inexplicable idiocy are quite welcome! (As well as your experiences with live web-chats with bots or what have you).

Thank you for contacting AT&T Internet Services, my name is Lori Wagner. One moment while I review your information.
leetupload: Alright.
Lori Wagner: Thank you for waiting, leetupload.
Lori Wagner: I understand that you have an issue with your email. Is this correct?
leetupload: Yes.
leetupload: Do you understand what my problem is, or do I need to go into further detail?
Lori Wagner: I actually do, yet, let me recap that…
Lori Wagner: As you mentioned, the mail server deleted all emails downloaded on your Thunderbird program. Am I right?
leetupload: Try the inverse of what you said.
leetupload: THunderbird removed all of my e-mails from the mail server.
leetupload: I currently have all of them on my desktop, but I wish to transfer them back, or have them replaced back onto the mail server in some way or another.
Lori Wagner: Oh, ok.
Lori Wagner: Did you check your Web-based mail, if you have a copy of these supposed lost emails?
leetupload: Of course…
leetupload: Unless there are some odd places that I don’t know of.
leetupload: I checked in “Inbox” and “Trash.”
leetupload: Any other location is beyond me.
leetupload: As of yet, there is one message in there, from yahoo. I had e-mails dating back to January 29, 2003.
Lori Wagner: I see.
Lori Wagner: Thank you for that information.
leetupload: You’re quite welcome.
Lori Wagner: Did you check on your Thunderbird settings, as to how long before your emails are deleted from the server?
leetupload: I had that option unchecked at the time.
leetupload: The “Leave messages on server” by default, is not checked.
leetupload: And it automatically began downloading them, thus removing them as well, I presume.
Lori Wagner: Ok.
Lori Wagner: What about the “Remove from server after ____ days” option?
Lori Wagner: Was that checked too?
leetupload: Ok, this is what I said. The “Leave messages on server” was not checked, therefore, by logical deduction, “For at most ___ days” option was greyed out - i.e., not checked.
Lori Wagner: Ok.
Lori Wagner: Have you tried considering uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird?
leetupload: Ok, that made zero sense.
leetupload: That will not have my messages sent back to Yahoo’s mail server, on the account ****@sbcglobal.net.
leetupload: You probably don’t understand what my problem is at all, do you?
Lori Wagner: Are you questioning my understanding of your issue?
Lori Wagner: If you are, then I’m telling you, yes, I do understand your issue.
leetupload: Yes, yes I am. By virtue of you replying with “have you tried reinstalling thunderbird.”
Lori Wagner: Oh, ok.
leetupload: Unless you can explain to me why this would remotely help in anyway, I continue to think the prior.
Lori Wagner: leetupload, Thunderbird is a product that AT&T Internet Services does not support. At this point, I can offer you AT&T Support+, a fee-based technical support service that can assist you. If you’d like, I can refer you to AT&T Support+ to explain more about the service and to resolve your issue, or we have some information about many of these common products on the Member Facing Support Site at http://help.sbcglobal.net. Another option is to contact Mozilla directly.
Lori Wagner: There. I hope that makes sense.
Thank you for using AT&T High Speed Internet. You may now close this window.

If you need more reasoning for why Yahoo! customer support sucks, I’d be more than happy to share my other numerous experiences with them. Cheers till then.
